How do I order?

Ordering is done on our website and is as simple as ordering any product online. First, you select the desired week for delivery. Once you have selected your week, choose from either the standard or subsidized price meal kit, select your pick up location and add to your shopping cart. Once you have finished your shopping, select your shopping cart and proceed to check out. At checkout, you can either pay at the time of your order online (credit card only) or at pick-up (cash or EBT only). First time customers will be asked to create an account to speed up future purchases. There is also a short survey you will fill out at check out that we use to better understand our customers.

Can I order more than one meal kit?

How can I pay for my meal kit? When ordering your meal kit we accept credit card payment (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover) online at check out or cash or EBT at time of pick up. We do not accept credit card at time of pick-up. If you have any trouble with forms of payment give us a call and we will do our best to accommodate you.

How much does each meal kit cost?

Each meal kit will cost $32.00 or $16.00 if you qualify for our subsidized price.

How do I know if I qualify for a subsidized meal kit?

If you or anyone living in your household has participated in one of more of the programs listed below in the past 12 months, you can purchase a meal kit for $12. We have received a grant from the United Way of Central Maryland to help those who cannot afford the full meal kit price. The mission of the Roving Radish is to make fresh and affordable meal kits available to all Howard County residents.

Here is the list of eligible programs.

Do I need to bring verification that I qualify for a subsidy?

No, this is done on the honor system. Currently we do not have the resources to verify everyone’s paper work that qualify for the subsidized kits. However, we reserve the right to ask for verification from any customer at any time.

What if I miss my pick up time?

If you miss your meal kit pick up your kit will be donated to a local food bank. We make every effort to remind you of your pick up time and will do everything we can to help you pick your meal up at the right time and place.

How will my meal kit be packaged?

The food will be refrigerated until you pick up. The ingredients will be provided to you in a shopping bag, just as you would pick it up from the grocery store. It is your responsibility to ensure that your meal kit returns to a refrigerated environment within a reasonable amount of time.

What will each meal kit contain?

Each meal kit provides all of the ingredients and instructions for two meals, for a family of four. The kit includes meat or other protein, vegetables and/or fruit, as well as products like pasta or rice. Most items will come already cut and chopped, so they are ready to cook. The ingredients are listed on the meal kits ingredients tab on the ordering page of the website.

Will I need to purchase additional food items to complete the recipes?

Occasionally, it is possible that you might need to purchase an ingredient (i.e. 1 egg, milk) but we do our best to include everything. A list of items you will need to have to prepare meals is listed on the ingredients tab on the ordering page of website.

Will all the produce and meats be from local farms?

Whenever possible we include products from local farms. We have listed the local farms that participate in our program on our website. There are times we cannot buy products locally. When that occurs we buy from regional farms or other responsible vendors. We will always be transparent with our customers and tell you where we purchased our products.

Will the ingredients in each food kit be organic?

No, although some products will be organic we cannot guarantee that all will be. We do however purchase from farms and vendors that are responsible and stand behind their products.
